I haven't played in a long while so this is information from a friend who's a veteran of the game!

They mention that there's a bit of difficulty in reading the dates since you will require some main story context. And later on, the game starts to reference date cards in main story. So having a read of both main story and card does give you a more complete read of the plot. But they did note that it's not super crucial until Li Zeyan's oblivion arc in Season 2 since the date card plays an important role in getting him back.

They mention that you'll be find to get an understanding of the plot without reading the dates from earlier ones until the later stages of the story. 

I don't heavily suggest picking up LP because it would be a long backlog of things to read, but you can still give it a try first and see how it goes. I do suggest finding other LP players to help you out on if you need resources to read past dates/events or to fill up the gaps in your reading.

It's a bit of effort but would be worth your time! If you don't stay, you'll at least gain more appreciation for the different styles of CN otome games and pick up another LI! 😉

hiii i dk if you play lovepro. but if i may ask, i wanted to play lovepro but it seem quite late and i might miss most of card and event. i wonder if those will affect the immersion of main storyline?
